Seasoned Staff Interview
Name: Carolyn Hodson
Title: Office Manager and Marketing Assistant, CDR
- What is your favorite Bible passage ... and why? Gal. 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." It reminds me that I am not my own, and it gives God all the glory...for everything.
- How many years have you worked at Cedarville University? 15 years working with the "family" I have here at CDR Radio.
- What is the silliest question you've ever been asked on the job? Wow! There are so many! "Is this Chase Bank?" (approximately 5 a day on that one) "Do you know the name of the song I heard about a year ago?...it was about God." "Is it going to rain this weekend...in northern Ohio?" "Where are all the Haunted Houses this year?" "Would you broadcast an announcement for my lost cat?"
- Willing to share an embarrassing moment ... or funny story? Not related to my employment...but I got sick at my wedding and threw up all over the pastor's shoes (right after I said "I do"). That was 37 years ago...but still haven't gotten completely over it. :(
- What is the name of your favorite musical group? Have no real favorite...I'm from the generation which is still hurting from the death of Elvis.
- What is your life's passion outside of work ... or share how you fill your leisure time? My passion would probably be my 3 (almost 4) precious grandchildren. Leisure? I'm afraid I spend too much time on the computer...mahjong, ebay, xanga...that's leisure for me.
- What is your favorite childhood memory ... or a memorable moment from serving here at Cedarville? Childhood memory-spending the night at my grandma and grandpa Jones, eating a whole pint of ice cream with my grandpa, getting up in the morning and my grandma fixing me toast and hot chocolate. Here at C.U.-just enjoying being here while my 3 children and their 2 spouses were going to school here, and currently working closely with my daughter.
- What is the craziest thing you've ever done? Kidnaped my husband once, drove him to the airport, and flew to Chicago for a weekend.
