Welcome to the 'Ville
Name: John Gredy
Title: Vice President for Enrollment Management
- What is your favorite Bible passage...and why? Hebrews 11:1. The person who influenced me the most about faith and hope was Jack Wyrtzen. It seems like in my Christian journey I continually need to place my trust in Him and believe He will provide.
- What brought you to Cedarville? I have always had an interest in Cedarville because of its commitment to solid Biblical teaching, inerrancy, and outstanding academic programs. Early in my spiritual journey my wife, Linda, and I traveled to Cedarville for Word of Life Youth Leader training. My respect for Cedarville increased further when I was given the opportunity to be on campus to explore Pioneer Food Service and ROTC for Indiana Wesleyan University. Therefore, when I was offered the position of Vice President for Enrollment Management by Dr. Brown, I saw it as a gift from God to be in a Christian University committed to scriptural truth and reaching students for Christ. I believe the Lord has called me to promote Christian Higher Education. I am thrilled to be a part of the Cedarville community and look forward to seeing God do great things in our midst.
- Tell us about your family... My wife Linda has been a stay-at-home mom until recently. She has resumed her love of painting and has had some of her paintings accepted at regional art exhibits in Indiana. My son, Jonathan, 23, enjoys working as a stockbroker for Ameritrade in Omaha, Nebraska. My daughter, Amy, 18, plans to attend Cedarville University and is interested in pursuing English and mechanical engineering. She has multiple interests which include singing and sports.
- Where did you attend school? I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from Albion College in Albion, MI. I also have a master's degree in Counseling and a doctorate in Higher Education (College Administration) from Indiana University.
- Who is the most famous person you have ever met? I met Ed Sullivan on Park Avenue in New York City as he and his wife were taking a Sunday afternoon walk.
