Campus Security - Crime Prevention and Information Programs
The Cedarville University Campus Safety Department strives to be a proactive department. In achieving this end, the following is a list of methods used on our campus to provide crime prevention and information to our students and employees.
- Distribution of Campus Crime Prevention and Security literature in campus residence halls.
- Q&A opportunities at a safety promotion exhibit booth, set-up at the start of each academic school year.
- Brochures available at the Campus Safety Office on a a wide range of campus safety issues
- Periodic computer generated e-mails relative to Crime Prevention and Security Information sent to all members of the Campus Community.
- Timely reports of any threats to students or employees in a manner that will aid in the prevention of similar occurrences. These reports are issued through the computer generated e-mail system or through written or verbal information briefs provided by resident directors, deans or campus safety personnel.
- Daily campus safety patrols of the entire campus conducted 24/7 by foot, bicycle, or in marked and unmarked vehicles.
- Security escort services offered after hours of darkness for individuals requesting escort to their resident hall or to and from on-campus buildings and parking lots.
- Emergency telephones strategically installed throughout the campus property for quick reporting of incidents and for making requests for security related assistance.
