Library Power / Benjamin Franklin High School

During the Centennial Library's Celebration of National Library Week (April 2-8) we took the theme of Library Power. We distributed Power Balls (candy fire balls) at the Circulation desk, we had two contests: guess the number of Power Balls in a jar, and Library trivia, distributed via e-mail each day--the Power to Research--and win. Carl designed 9 Library posters highlighting Our Student assistants and the library power available to users. The Special Collections room was open and the collection of rare Bibles were available for viewing - the Power of the Word. On Tuesday morning the 1st grade classes from CedarCliff came to the library for Story time - the Power to Share a story.

The highlight of the week was the Book Sale. This year we decide to donate the money to Benjamin Franklin High School Library - The Power to Help. $2,641.05 was collected through the book sale and a donation box. The Book sale was held Monday - Thursday, with Thursday being half price day.
