CU TEAMS TAKE PART IN CONTINUED HURRICANE RELIEF EFFORTS
Cedarville, Ohio- If experience is the best teacher, than experience has been busy educating 300-plus Cedarville University faculty, staff, and students in the classroom of post-Katrina Gulf Coast.
Since late October the Cedarville University family has attempted to make a difference in the lives of weary Gulf Coast residents. Most recently 100 CU team members assisted the efforts of Samaritan's Purse at various locations in Louisiana and Mississippi by removing yard waste, replacing roofs, and removing sheetrock from home interiors. Teams also helped further the clean-up efforts at New Orleans Baptist Seminary and continued with the neighborhood rebuilding in Slidell, La. CU teams collectively provided more than 4,000 hours of labor over the winter break trip (Jan. 2-8).
Since October:
-The CU family has raised more than $135,000 for disaster relief. (The previous CU record for relief efforts was $35,000.)
-Teams have put in more than 10,000 hours of labor.
