Is the Cost of College Worth It?
March 14, 2012
By Janice Supplee
Headlines questioning the value of a college education have been all over the media. Unfortunately, many of the reports come to incomplete and unfavorable conclusions.
That's why a recent article in Cedarville University's award-winning student newspaper "Cedars" caught my eye. Cedarville senior Bekah Cvetich weighed in on "Is College Really Worth it?" I thought her insights, responding to a recent Popular Mechanics article, were worth sharing.
Placement rates, national rankings, and student satisfaction scores -- not to mention transformed lives and graduates' passionate about changing this world for Jesus Christ -- affirm that a Cedarville education is a worthwhile investment. But we know that choosing Cedarville requires intentional sacrifices for many families.
