webinarIf you are a parent of a high school junior, you have most likely already begun helping your student with his or her college search, and you may also already be feeling a bit overwhelmed with the process!

Navigating through the maze of higher education can be a daunting experience for parents. Where do I begin? How do I find the best college for my student? What factors should I consider? And, how will we pay for this new adventure?

Cedarville University is offering a FREE webinar to answer these and other questions on Monday, April 6, 2015, at 8 p.m. EDT. Registration is now open!

The webinar is led by Roscoe Smith, Associate Vice President for University Admissions at Cedarville, who has 25 years of enrollment experience ... not to mention he's a dad with two college students! You'll be able to ask questions throughout the presentation and gain insights to apply to your specific situation ... all from the comfort of your own home and personal computer.

Register now to be a part of this FREE, informative webinar. And, share this information with friends who are about to embark on this college search process with a son or daughter! All are welcome to attend; the material will be relevant no matter what colleges a parent or student is considering.

Why Choose a Christian College?

March 11, 2015

Photo of Cedarville's campusWe think a Christ-centered education is vital to equipping your student for a life that honors God both personally and professionally.

But why is choosing a Christian university so important?

The No. 1 measurable outcome of a university degree in the United States is a decline in a student’s faith. Higher education is not value neutral, and students are walking away from their faith in disturbing numbers.

But don’t just take our word for it. Christianity Today put together a great resource for parents and their high school students who are working through the decision of whether a Christian college is the right choice for them.

Read today's post to discover if a Christian university is right for your student.

Value of a Bachelor's Degree

February 26, 2015

value of a bachelor's degreeA recent article from Bloomberg Business confirms what we’ve always known — there is real value in earning a bachelor’s degree. In fact, the article explains that the biggest labor market problem for bachelor’s degree holders right now just might be that there aren’t enough of them to fill the open jobs.

The article notes that the unemployment rate for those with a bachelor’s degree is down to 2.8%, significantly lower than the 5.7% rate for the adult population as a whole. The unemployment rate for bachelor’s degree holders is the lowest it’s been since 2008, and the article explains that with this level, it is possible the job market may run out of bachelor’s holders to hire.

But a degree from Cedarville University does more than just prepare students for a spot in the marketplace. Our students are equipped for lifelong leadership and service through an education marked by excellence and grounded in biblical truth. We prepare them to use their vocation to glorify God in all they do.

P.S. There is still time to apply for admission to Cedarville University. We continue to accept and review applications throughout the academic year. If your student has already been accepted, be sure to deposit now to secure his or her place in the fall class!
