Dr. William E. Brown

Dr. William E. Brown

Dr. William E. Brown became president of Cedarville University in June 2003, following a 10-year presidency at Bryan College in Dayton, Tenn. A graduate of the University of South Florida, Brown holds a master of theology degree and Ph.D. from Dallas Theological Seminary.

As a nationally recognized expert in worldview, Brown has authored three books — Making Sense of Your Faith; Where Have All the Dreamers Gone? Observations from a Biblical Worldview; and Making Sense of Your World with Gary Phillips — and more than one hundred articles for journals, magazines, encyclopedias, and newspapers. He is also the executive producer of re:View, a film series which helps students discern culture (www.re-films.com).

Most recently excerpts from Brown's book "Where Have All the Dreamers Gone?" have begun to reach thousands of new readers. Fifty-three selections from Brown's book appear in the new Impact Student Leadership Bible, a project that incorporates hundreds of articles, notes and study aids aimed at developing a balanced Christian worldview.

Brown holds memberships in organizations such as the Society of Christian Philosophers, the Evangelical Philosophical Society, and the Evangelical Theological Society. He has also lectured internationally in Europe, the former Soviet Union, and South America.

Married since 1976, Brown and his wife, Lynne Jones Brown, are the parents of April and Alex.

Kelly Kullberg

Kelly is the founder and director of project development of The Veritas Forum which she first organized at Harvard in 1992. She edited and co-authored the best-selling Finding God at Harvard: Spiritual Journeys of Christian Thinkers (1996) and taught senior electives at Harvard College in film and C.S. Lewis while serving as a chaplain to the Harvard Graduate School Christian Fellowship from 1988-1997. Kelly holds a B.A. in Organizational Behavior from Ohio University; an M.A. from the Ohio State University in Communication Theory. She was a visiting student at the Harvard Divinity School and at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Kelly lives with her husband David and children in Columbus, Ohio.

Kathy Kurz

Vice President, Scannell & Kurz, Inc.

Kathy Kurz is Vice President of Scannell & Kurz, Inc., a consulting firm that specializes in reviewing organizations, operations, and policies in enrollment related offices, and developing customized enrollment management strategies and programs for their higher education clients. The solutions recommended are unique to each client, based on a data-driven understanding of the institution's particular market position and challenges.

Kathy's special area of expertise is in developing strategic financial aid and retention programs, designed to enhance enrollment results. As a former financial aid administrator at the University of Rochester and Earlham College, she pays special attention to ensuring that the solutions recommended are practical, detailed, and implementable.

Since partnering with Jim Scannell to start the company in 1996, Kathy and Jim have consulted at over 250 institutions nationwide on over 350 projects. William B. Russell

Bill Russell

Bill Russell spent thirty-two years in higher education administration in the areas of enrollment management and student development before joining the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative (CYC) in 2003 as their first Vice President for College Access Programs. In this role he managed the largest Educational Talent Search program in Ohio, along with collaborating in a GEAR UP partnership with the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. A local College Resource Center and the Cincinnati Public Schools College Access Alliance were also under his direction.

Since 2007 he serves as Director, Institutional Collaboration, at the Ohio Board of Regents. In this role he works with superintendents and adult directors at career centers around the state, along with leaders of university regional campuses, community colleges, and technical colleges. Working with public and private organizations that interact with University System of Ohio institutions is also a part of his responsibility.

James Scannell

Jim Scannell

Jim Scannell is President of Scannell & Kurz, Inc., a consulting firm that specializes in reviewing organizations, operations, and strategies in enrollment-related offices and developing customized enrollment management solutions for their higher education clients. The recommendations for action are unique to each client, based on a data-driven understanding of the institution's particular market position and challenges. Among their services, the development of pricing and financial aid strategies is Scannell & Kurz's core business.

Jim's special area of expertise falls in recruitment -- from mentoring admissions leaders to building new demand through data analysis and the development of strategic communications. Jim's administrative career spanned over 25 years of leadership in admissions, financial aid, and enrollment management at Boston College, Cornell University, and the University of Rochester. In addition, Jim has authored numerous publications on enrollment management including On Choosing a College that is Right for You (Peterson's Guides), The Effect of Financial Aid Policies on Admission and Enrollment (The College Board), Working Together: A Cooperation between Admissions and Financial Aid Offices (The College Board), and Shaping the College Experience Outside the Classroom (University of Rochester Press).

Robert Sevier

Robert Sevier

Robert is a Senior Vice President at Stamats, Inc. Each year, Sevier directs more than 100 research studies and helps nearly a dozen colleges with their integrated marketing, brand marketing, and strategic plans. He has also written more than 85 articles for CASE Currents, The Journal of College Admissions, Trusteeship, Communication World, Admission Strategist, and College and University Journal, and other publications. Beyond his writing, he has conducted more than 500 seminars, workshops, and presentations for the AAU, CASE, NAICU, NACAC, ACT, AACRAO, CIC, CCCU, NACCAP, AMA, NCMPR, College Board, and others.

Prior to Stamats, Sevier worked at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland and Denison University in Ohio. Sevier also taught at Mount Vernon Nazarene College and The Ohio State University. Sevier earned a Ph.D. from Ohio State University in 1986 in Policy Analysis and Higher Education Administration.
