Dean, School of Biblical and Theological Studies

Selected Responsibilities:

  • Leadership in the areas of strategic planning, curriculum development, program review, faculty development, and student learning outcomes assessment.
  • Active role in the appointment and supervision of department chairs, faculty, and administrative staff.
  • Management of all aspects of the School including budgets, course scheduling, and teaching loads.
  • Communication of the School’s mission and goals and promotion of its interests to internal and external constituencies.
  • Makes recommendations to and advises the Academic Vice President, primarily as a member of the Council of Deans.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Commitment to the University’s doctrinal statement, mission, and objectives.
  • Ph.D. and eligible for an appointment as Associate Professor or Professor in a department within the School: Biblical Studies, Theology and Philosophy, Ministry and Mission.
  • Record of teaching excellence and academic achievement.
  • At least ten years of relevant professional experience including at least five years of relevant experience in higher education, preferably at the level of department chair or higher.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong planning and organizational skills, an ability to relate to internal and external constituencies, the ability to work collaboratively on a team, and a record of effective leadership in faculty, student, and program development.

The University seeks a talented Christian leader to serve as Chair of its Department of Business Administration (DBA). One of the University’s largest departments, the DBA is ACBSP-accredited and is comprised of 15 full-time and 7 part-time faculty members serving 300 business majors and minors. The DBA offers programs in accounting, finance, global economics and international business, information systems, management, and marketing.

The department chair will provide strategic leadership to increase the department’s enrollment and expand its influence as a School of Business offering undergraduate, and possibly graduate programs of excellence. Responsibilities include leadership and administration in areas of strategic planning and budget management, curriculum and pedagogy development, faculty supervision and development, student advising, course scheduling, assessment, and departmental marketing and public relations.

The successful candidate must:

  • Hold a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in business (AACSB or ACBSP accredited institution preferred)
  • Be able to teach in at least one area of the curriculum
  • Have at least five years of full-time faculty experience in a traditional business classroom program

Chair, Department of History and Government

Administrative duties include the oversight and direction of a department of seven full-time faculty members offering majors in American Studies, History, International studies, Pre-Law, Political Science and Public Administration. Successful candidate will teach at least two courses each semester. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Political Science or related field and demonstrate both teaching competence and research potential in at least two of the following subfields: American politics, comparative government, international politics, political economy/economics, political theory, public administration, public law, and public policy. Associate Dean - School of Pharmacy

The Cedarville University School of Pharmacy is in development, and the first class of prepharmacy students is enrolled and anticipating the Fall 2012 start of our professional Doctor of Pharmacy program. We are now searching for an Associate Dean to provide leadership and support to many areas of our School of Pharmacy. If you are interested in using your qualifications as a pharmacist and educator to train future pharmacists to impact the world for the Kingdom of God through the profession of pharmacy, consider the Cedarville University School of Pharmacy.

The Associate Dean is a 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty position that is responsible for a variety of administrative functions within the school, including the development of policies and procedures, supervision of admissions and student life functions of the school, budget management, support for accreditation processes, and general project management. The Associate Dean may also teach courses within the School of Pharmacy.

Requirements for this position include a Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and related Ph.D. Previous experience in an administrative position is required with preference given to those with experience in health care and/or higher education. Previous instructional experience within the profession of Pharmacy, and licensure or eligibility for licensure as a pharmacist in one or more states is also preferred.

Biblical Studies

Cedarville University is a primarily undergraduate institution with a wide array of majors and professional programs with a required liberal arts core. Every student completes a 16 semester hour Bible minor. The position will include teaching required courses in the minor including large section classes of Old or New Testament Literature, as well as major classes appropriate for background and experience, advising and mentoring students, committee work and scholarly activity.

Applicants who have completed the Ph.D. degree or comparable degree in biblical studies with an emphasis in Old or New Testament and demonstrated competence or promise in classroom instruction and scholarly research are strongly preferred; outstanding late-stage ABD applications will be considered. The successful candidate must be able to function collegially in a team-oriented environment. Communication Studies/Debate Coach

Computer Science

Computer Science faculty position available. Responsibilities include developing and teaching undergraduate courses in computer science and information systems, advising students, and working with student design teams. The candidate should have a broad computer science background that includes C++ or java programming, operating systems, database, networking, and software engineering. Ph.D. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred. The Elmer W. Faculty position primarily teaching graphic design and web design. Other duties include curriculum development, advising, and committee work. Candidate also is expected to continue his or her creative work. Required: BA or BFA in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or closely related field; minimum of five years of professional experience in the design field with at least two years of recent web design experience; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite software including Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Flash on the Macintosh platform; knowledge of current industry standards and trends in information design as well as interactive/web design and typography; excellent communication skills. Faculty position in International Business (IB) for the Department of Business Administration (DBA). The DBA is an ACBSP accredited business department of fifteen faculty members and 300 undergraduate students offering majors in accounting, finance, global economics and international business, information systems, management, and marketing. Responsibilities include teaching international business to a variety of majors, several international business classes to IB majors and engaging in relevant scholarship. Music History

A full-time faculty position in the Department of Music and Art.
