Gladys York Memorial Scholarship

Al and Joanna Stevens established this scholarship in 1994 in honor of Joanna's mother, Gladys York. It was established in order to assist students from Calvary Baptist Church in Little Egg Harbor Twp, NJ who are recommended by the pastor and who have financial need. New applicants must write a paper detailing their spiritual and academic goals for the year along with long-term career aspirations. The essay must be completed by July 1 of each year. Students should also submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if interested in this scholarship. To renew the scholarship, selected recipients must then write an essay discussing what they accomplished that year regarding their established goals and establish new goals for the upcoming year. Recipients must also maintain a 2.0 GPA or above. Secondary consideration is given to other residents of New Jersey provided an essay and pastoral recommendation is submitted. The Financial Aid Director selects the recipient.
