Ruth Counter Klopfenstein, R.N. and A. Rees Klopfenstein, M.D. Nursing Education Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2002 by Thomas and Joan Klopfenstein, this endowed scholarship was created to assist full-time junior and senior nursing students. Junior students must maintain an overall GPA of 2.75 and a 3.0 GPA in basic sciences. Senior students must maintain an overall GPA of 2.75 and a 3.0 GPA in professional nursing courses. Recipients must also demonstrate Christian character in their personal and professional life and a commitment to the nursing profession. Financial need may be considered; completion of the FAFSA is recommended but not required. Preference will be given to students who received the scholarship in their junior year if they meet the above criteria. Recipients may receive the scholarship for a maximum of 2 years. The Chair of Nursing Department and the Nursing Department faculty select the recipients.
