I love to dance, although I am not too good at it. It's really a necessary lost art. You should start a swing dance club!

So is dancing even allowed at CU?  i know that there are some types of dancing that aren't allowed but does that include all dancing?  just wondering!

So, if dancing isn't allowed @ CU (which I am assuming that it's not :-(...I see their reasoning and I understand...although I think that as long as it's not suggestive or sexual, it's ok for the most part), we should place it under the category of aerobic exercise and and start a group.

The rules for dancing at Cedaarville are actually very lienient. they just basically don't want you going clubbing in Dayton, or organizing official dances on campus. If a few people got together in a lounge and started swing dancing, I don't think there would be a problem.

Hummm. I was wondering about whether dancing was allowed too. Here at home (VA) I do something called contra dancing which is similar in a way to square dancing and english country dancing (the type that they do in the most recent Pride and Prejudice movie). Anyway, so i looked online and they have contra dancing in Dayton and i thought maybe it would be fun to go sometime if it was "legal"/allowed.

I'm all for placing dance under the category of aerobic exercise and starting a group! I love to dance, and I've taken lessons for a while, and am very into musical theatre dance. Pretty much any kind of dance appeals to me, though, so I'm definitely willing to join a swing dancing group if we get one started! I think Cedarville would be okay with it, because I talked to my admissions counselor and he said if I wanted, I'd be allowed to take lessons at a local dance studio (although I don't think I'll have the money for that, unfortunately) - so I'm guessing they would think dance, er, aerobic exercise is okay, too.

That sounds like so much fun! My friend Michael (who also happens to be going to Cedarville) take swing dancing lessons on Friday nights.

Hey! I would love to swing dance. I was on a missions trip, and one of our leaders knew how. He showed me some steps, but I've forgotten them. If you're willing to teach I am more than willing to learn! God bless, Crystal

Well if some people are up for it, we can start a group! Plus, Dr Brown is an old family friend, so maybe I can talk to him if it's a problem... ;-)
