Cedarville University

Hello everyone. My name is Marleigh and I will be starting at Cedarville in the fall! Alright. Roommate search.... Well I am an organized person and I don't necessarily enjoy messes. When I have a mess it bugs me. I am a small town kind of person and love walking and looking around, but also love visiting the city. I love to read and my favorite genre is classics. I am a music person so I will have instruments and I do sing. I am constantly busy and always have something to do, even if it's sleep. I am good about waking up in the morning and I don't go to sleep until late at night, but on rare occasions I enjoy sleeping early. My favorite color is green and I am majoring in theatre and minoring in music.

Hi Marleigh! My name is Mary and I have quite a few things in common with you, though I am not looking for a roommate yet, just wanted to reply to you and get to know you better!

I am a small town girl too, though cities are nice (SMALL cities!). I enjoy being organized, but as things get busy that goes out the window and my room looks like a tornado went through. I like going to bed at a reasonable time (11:30pm being the latest... preferably) and I enjoy rising early. Walking is great and I like to run too. I am going to be a Biology major in the Pre-med program.

Where are you from, Marleigh? I am from Duluth, MN. And how did you find out about Cedarville? What is your biggest goal in attending CU (other than completing your major)?

Hi Mary! Thanks for responding! I get rather busy myself and my room sometimes look like that, but for some reason when I'm stressed out (which is a lot) I have an epiphany and I get a huge urge to clean. Maybe it just calms me down or something. I don't know. I'm trying to get myself to run, but I get shin splints when I do. However, my uncle has those as well and he says that running barefoot prevents them. So I am trying a new experiment with running bare foot.

I am from the Syracuse area in New York and have even lived in the Cooperstown area. Not that fun though. I found out about Cedarville by a postcard in the mail. You know those bags that they give? Well I got a postcard saying to send me a bag and then they sent their information along with that. I learned that it was a Bible college and, not planning to attend a Bible college, I fell in love with it. I have visited a few times and fell in love with it more. There's something about the atmosphere that relaxes me and makes me feel at peace. I love it =). My biggest goal to attending is to grow closer to God and to learn how to keep that relationship after college, in my career, and my family. How about you?

So what career are you planning on entering in? Any special way that you found out about Cedarville? What are your likes and dislikes? How do you feel about living far away from your family?

Really? Did you do All County this year? Because I met someone there that was planning on going to Cedarville.

I was unfortunately not at all County this year due to sports conflicts and being named an alternate. I originally was going to attend University of Wyoming, however I became fixated with Cedarville when I met the track team and felt called to come I only recently decided 100% I am coming

Yeah sports and music don't always agree with each other =). It always seems when there's a sport's game there's a music concert and vice versa. That's great that you were given a calling! I actually have a really great friend who wants to be a pastor and he's the fastest runner on our cross country team. Unfortunately due to injuries he cannot run as much, but has substituted bicycling in.

My parents are worried about the money issue, what is your thought on that? Right now I know that I have to go, because like you I feel like I have been called. I'm not really worried all that much about it, but it stresses me out when others place that worry on me. Does that happen to you?

So, let's just say my avorite color is ALSO green. <---Best as it comes. I actually live in the small town of Cedarville, OH! WOOT! I LOVE visiting big cities. Especially Chicago. I haven't been to NY since like 2000. I don't read that much because I don't have that much time, but I really enjoy it when I do. (If it's a good book.) I am majoring in grapgic design, but I sing all the time and I hope to be involved in the theater program! I am pretty matched to your time schedule: busy, normally too busy to go to bed early whether it be due to school, social activities, or personal projects. I love being organized. Sometimes, however, I slack from buziness but catch back up. <--- Ask my sister. Anyway... just throwin' out some ideas. Good luck!

That's because green is the best color. =) I have never been to Chicago, but is it as windy as they say it is? I don't really have time to read, but I try to read at least one chapter in a book right before bed, so I will end up going to sleep around one or two because I try to fit everything in. There are just never enough hours in the day. Our organization skills are also the same. When my life gets hectic and I get really busy my room can be messy, (kind of reflecting my life at that moment) but it usually doesn't stay messy long. I go on cleaning rampages when I get incredibly tired of it and do that a lot when I'm stressed.
