Hey, I was looking at the jobs listing and clicked on the job application, and was actually able to fill out a job application thing on the web for the fall. However, does anyone know whether the departments besides Chucks (which has sign ups during Getting Started Weekend) will interview and hire over the summer? Or do they wait until the school year too?
I have worked for the past year in a Student Tech job, so I am hoping to get the Student Tech job on campus since the job summary makes it sound VERY similar to the job I'm in now. Next choice: library, third choice: campus safety telephone operator. last choice: chucks! ------------------------- Nursing Major Hopefully an Honors Student Class of 2015 "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." Hi there,
You can apply, but they will need to "document" you before you will be allowed to work. You have to be registered for classes before they consider your application (so you might not be able to get a job until you're all set for classes - which happens when you arrive). There will *always* be jobs though, so you can make ends meet. When you arrive on campus, visit the Admissions Counselors and they'll be able to tell you when you can apply for jobs (it may not be until a few days after you arrive). A side note, technically, students who have established higher financial need are given jobs first (or at least are given priority in certain jobs) but the most useful information is here: http://www.cedarville.edu/financialaid/Jobs+on+Campus. Don't get too concerned though, there are *always* jobs and people looking for substitutes (particularly at Chucks). If you're really eager, you could make contact with Computer Services and maybe send them an email introducing yourself and telling them of your interest to work with them. They may not have anything particular to say yet, but at least then they recognize your name when you're on campus and applying. Adding the personal touch before arriving may give you an advantage over other freshmen. All the best! |

Thank you so much for your help!!!! I wasn't completely sure how everything worked, and you definitely clarified things. Thanks again.
