Yeah, that's me. Eli Husfelt, planning on running track next year. Possibly cross country, I've talked to the track coach about it and I'm not sure yet.

I run track too. I am planning on running track at Cedarville and have been in touch with the track coach as well. What do you run? I run hurdles.

I run the 8, the 4, and I maaaay run the mile in college. I've talked to the track coach a few times as well, been up there for four meets.
Hurdles are awesome, just... dangerous for us middle distance runners. Lack of coordination and all, you know? ------------------------- Class of 2012 / Track and Field Major: History & Political Science Email: Piratethingy@gmail.com Hit me up on facebook: Eli Husfelt |

That is neat you have been able to go up and watch. I haven't been able to visit the campus, so it is going to be all new for me when I get there. Do you live close to Cedarville? I live in Az, so to visit was kinda difficult.
Yes, hurdles can be very dangerous, even for hurdlers. ------------------------- ~Meagan~ Class of 2012 Major: Early Childhood Education Minor: Bible & Intercultural Communications Track & Field Hebrews 12:1-2 |

Yeah, I like the campus a lot. I haven't actually been up to watch a meet, they host two indoor high school meets a year, so I've been up running at those.
I live in Dayton, around half an hour to forty-five minutes from CU, so it's pretty close. But, my dad's military, so I've lived everywhere. Including.... Tucson! I was there for freshman and sophmore years. Small world, huh? Yeah, I've hurdled a few times (I tried pretty much everything until I figured out I was better at the 8 than anything else I tried). Fell..... 2/3 races I think? Not so prolific But yeah, 400 used to seem like a hard race until I started running the 800. Now it seems like cake. ------------------------- Class of 2012 / Track and Field Major: History & Political Science Email: Piratethingy@gmail.com Hit me up on facebook: Eli Husfelt |

That is neat...Tucson is about an hour away from where I live.
I bet the 4 is nothing compared to the 8. I have always admired people who can run anything longer than a 4, because it's just so long! The only time I ever run an 8 is during warmups at practice and that is just a jog. What do you plan on majoring in? I a planning on double majoring in education and political communications. Not sure exactly what I want to be...either a kindergarten teacher or political speech writer. How about you? ------------------------- ~Meagan~ Class of 2012 Major: Early Childhood Education Minor: Bible & Intercultural Communications Track & Field Hebrews 12:1-2 |

Right now I'm hovering between Pre-Law or History and Political Science. I'd like to either be a highschool/college history teacher or run for office.

That's pretty cool. Never known anyone who wanted to run for office.
I have never asked, but how long have you run track? I've only run since my sophomore year. I really wish I would have started as a freshman...oh well. ------------------------- ~Meagan~ Class of 2012 Major: Early Childhood Education Minor: Bible & Intercultural Communications Track & Field Hebrews 12:1-2 |

Haha, same here. I played football and basketball freshman year. Sophmore year I dropped basketball for track. Junior year I moved to Ohio, dropped football, kept track. Senior year I picked up Cross Country and I'm obviously still running track.
But yeah I wish I had run XC+ track all the way through, I think I could have been better than I am now. Oh well, that's what college is for, right? ------------------------- Class of 2012 / Track and Field Major: History & Political Science Email: Piratethingy@gmail.com Hit me up on facebook: Eli Husfelt |

I am hoping to play softball for CU. I have had a tryout with the coach and stuff but nothing concrete has been decided.
