I am accepted to Cedarville as well as a public school and I am having a very hard time making my decision. I have been praying to know God's will in my life and I want to serve him wherever I go. It's getting to the point where I think I'm over analyzing everything, but I am just trying to make a decision. My concern is that I won't be able to witness at a Christian campus. How can I be used? As Christians our purpose is to share His Good News! Another concern of mine is keeping myself busy. Throughout High school I have been really invovled in activities. I am also more productive in schoolwork when I am busy and am in a time crunch. What sort of activities can I be involved in? Or simply, is there much to do on a day to day basis? I visited the school a week ago and enjoyed it, but I'm not yet conviced that this is the place for me. I would greatly appreciate any feedback from current CU students. Thanks!

hey lisa,

i'm jessica and i'll be transfering to CU in the fall. i'm super excited! i've been going to a public community college for two years now, and basically all of my education up to now has been public. first of all when i read what you wrote, you are on the right track for praying about it! something i'd like to throw in. i'm going to CU because I really want to grow spiritually and learn to become a better witness. maybe you already have that. but i really want to come closer to Jesus than what i am now and I feel that's what's leading me to CU. i will pray for you in your decision making time. i know it can be difficult. i think i'll still be able to witness a little to the other students on campus by sharing my testimony and different things that the lord has laid on my heart, and for me personally, purity is my strongest point! so i cannot wait to share with my sisters in christ and brothers in christ about that. also, there are many organizations and ministries that reach out to the area cities that i've read about and want to get involved in and that will further my training and walk with christ to share him more. i hope some of these things help. i know you'll make the right decision because God will lead you to it.

hey, my name is katie and i am a junior here at CU. I absolutely love it here. I understand how you feel about feeling like you need to go somewhere where you can witness. CU has around 100 ministry opportunities, from leading AWANA to doing open air evangelism in dayton and columbus and many many other ministries that are available to students. As a Christian student I feel that it is vital that we are learning the Word of God and being taught by in many different ways, not just through our own personal quiet times. CU definitely prepares you in that, every class has the Bible integrated in your subjects and chapel is phenomenal. I'm in the education department and as i'm learning how to be a good teacher i am so glad that i am at a christian university where I am learning how to be more like Christ as a teacher and a person. I also lead a Bible study on campus as a ministry that i am involved in, i love it. God has taught me so much through these expeirences. As far as activities go, you won't be bored here. haha there are sooo many things to get involved in and just to do on the weekends. There are always things going on! If you have any other questions or need anything at all, feel free to contact me at katielmcginn@cedarville.edu or IM me on AOL ...my sn is edacrumb. I will be praying for you as you make your decision. Feel free to contact me if you want I'm sure you'll make the right one! Good luck! Keep seeking the Lord's will, and He will direct your path. Have a great day! Katie

Lisa,

I felt the urge to reply to your e-mail since I once shared your concerns about attending CU.  Since then, I have attended, graduated, and now work for CU.

My concern was that CU would be a bubble and I would not have interaction with the unsaved.  That was not the case.  As the other students have said, CU provided many opportunities to share faith with others.  Local and worldwide Christian ministries allowed students to make witnessing not just an event or activity, but a part of their lifestyle.

However, one factor that I underestimated about college was the environment.  College is an important time for a young believer to get deeply rooted in their beliefs and truly make their values and beliefs their own.  Doing that at CU was life-changing for me.  Not only was I surrounded by fellow believers, but I was taught by godly men and women who were concerned for me spiritually.  Yes, they wanted me to grasp the concepts in class, but me growing spiritually was very important to them.  My interaction with the faculty at CU was used by God to strengthen and motivate me to further righteousness.

We in the Admissions office are praying for you and the others who are still undecided.  We want you were the Lord wants you.  If you have other questions, feel free to contact me.

Aaron
