Cedarville University

I'm a transfer student coming in Fall 07 from a NY state school. I get all excited about coming to Cedarville and then I look at the Student Life Rules and I get so freaked out. I don't know how I'm going to handle no tv and not being able to even enter a male dorm. I'm worried I might pysch myself out again (I could have come in the fall 06 or spring 07). I have another question. I read that no face jewelry is allowed. I have a small diamond stud in my nose. Is this something I will get in trouble for and if I do, why? I know many Christians who love God and have a nose piercing. Please give your advice... Thanks.

I am not sure about facial pircing, and I hope someone else can answer that question.
As for the rules...you get used to them and none of them are really that extream. Yah sometimes it is frustrating not to be able to go into a guys dorm (except like once a month during open dorms) but overeall you adapt and survive. Usually we are all so busy with homework that you don't think about not having TV but many dorms do have a TV in the lounge so you can watch tv sometimes.
Over all Cedarville is pretty relaxed so I wouldn't get to freaked out if I were you, I just transferred here and think that is probably one the best things I've done. I hope this helps you some.

Shannon I'm pretty sure I know about the facial percings. I'm almost 100% sure that they aren't allowed I think at the least to classes, but they may not be allowed at all. I think the University's position about facial jewelry is that it's usually not seen as a professional thing for the work force so they encourage us to dress and look appropriate now so that we'll be ready for and use to it later on. I personally don't think that having little nose studs are wrong nor dos it make a statement about our faith, but I guess besides the professional aspect (I know several businesses that have stated they will not allow facial jewlry in the office), they may also think that if they allow studs ppl may stretch the rules and wear loops in the nose or eyebrow rings, etc... also, the school handbook is online, you may want to check that out for more indepth explanations. Hope this helps

I went to the handbook to find out for sure.. and facial percings (nose, eyebrow, etc.) are not permitted on campus at all. Just female earrings.
