Hello! I am currently a high-school senior, but I have been taking college classes at a community college for the past two years. I have only recently decided what I would like to major in, so unfortunately not all of my 62 credits will count towards a degree. However, I am hoping that some, at least, will. I know that if I earned a C or better in a class from a regionally accredited college that the credits themselves should transfer, but I would like to know if the classes themselves will count. Could you tell me which, if any, of these classes would count towards a Social Work degree, at least as electives, or possibly as required electives?
Biology 151: General Biology English 161 and 162: College Composition History 161 and 162: United States History History 151: Civilization I History 176: Ohio History Political Science 156: American National Government Economics 151: Macroeconomics Administative Office Information Systems (AOIS) 110: Keyboarding on the Computer French 151: Elementary French Mathematics 151: College Mathematics Thank you so much for any and all help. Sincerely, Stephanie Caywood |

Hi Stephanie,
Thank you for your inquiry! We will accept your credits as long as the courses are college-level and your grades are above a "C." Of those you listed, the following will help you toward our Social Work major. All of the other ones will count as electives. Biology 151: General Biology English 161 and 162: College Composition Political Science 156: American National Government Economics 151: Macroeconomics Mathematics 151: College Mathematics Please be sure to have official transcripts sent to Cedarville upon completion of the course work. Thanks! Karisa Linafelter Transfer Coordinator |
