Laptop/Notebook

CPU: 1.8GHz dual core is recommended, anything slower can cause your computer to bog down unneccessarily.

RAM/Memory: 2 GB minimum, more is better.

Video card: Integrated is fine if you do not plan to play games, if you do, look for a dedicated video card with at least 256mb of graphics memory.

Hard Drive: 250 GB or more if you play large games, or plan on storing music or video files. Less is fine if you will only use smaller programs.

Screen Resolution: 1280x800 or 1366x768 are the standard resolutions for notebooks, but in general, a larger resolution is better, as it will allow you to veiw more on your screen at a time.

Wi-Fi: 802.11n wireless is ideal, and will allow you to enjoy faster download speeds and greater range away from access points. 802.11b/g is slightly slower, but functions essentially the same on our campus.
