So it can't be jeans or shorts, does that mean everything else is fair game? Like all those pants at Old Navy that aren't jeans?

That's correct - no jeans, shorts, or t-shirts for class dress. On Fridays, however, jeans and t-shirts are allowed (still no shorts, though). The handbook describes it as follows... "Our dress code seeks to provide a balance of community guidelines and room for individual taste. Both students and faculty like having a dress code that outlines a slightly more formal standard of dress for the classroom. In our campus culture, this policy expresses a sense of self-discipline and seriousness for the academic endeavor." I'm not quite sure what exactly you're talking about with the pants at Old Navy, but chances are they're ok if they aren't jeans.

So in other words cargo pants are ok, like blue/khaki/gray etc? That's pretty much all I wear.

For the two questions above me- the answer to the first question is yes. Pretty much any kind of pants are OK, as long as they are not made of blue denim. I too only wear khaki cargo pants, so they are perfectly acceptable. As far as shorts- all shorts are banned during the time that you have to be in dress code for chapel and in the academic buildings. It doesn't matter what kind of shorts they are. After dress code hours and in the dorms of course though you are free to wear shorts.
