Hey I was looking through to find some info on my dorm which is Johnson. I haven't seen like anything about it. I'm a freshman and I wanted to be in Printy but I'm in Johnson. Is it nice? Will I be with mostly like upperclassmen?

Oh, girl. You will love Johnson so so much! Its amazing that you got in as a freshman because it is an upperclassmen dorm. Mostly jr's and sr's live there, but there are a fair amount of sophomores as well. There is a huge difference between Printy and Johnson. Printy is the "unit style" of dorms with 8 girls living in a unit, and Johnson has halls. I have lived in both, and I like both. The rooms in Johnson are HUGE compared to Printy and it has a really big nice co-ed lounge that connects it to the brother dorm, St.Clair. You can find it on the virtual tour, and see pictures and stuff. Its one of the "H" shaped dorms, on the north end of campus. So yeah, you will be with lots of upper classmen, but thats totally fun and a good way to make a ton of friends! And don't worry about missing the freshman, you will have all types of orientation things with freshman to meet people, and of course class!
you'll have such a blast! 2 more weeks! katie |

Hey my friend! No worries about Johnson! It is a fabulous dorm and as the previous post stated, the rooms are HUGE! There are a good amoung of freshman in there this year. Two that I know personally and if you are interested I could get you their names for FB. The Co-ed lounge is also fabulous! I have brothers that go to school with me so the co-ed dorm made it easy and comfortable for them to hang and study with me.
The only downer about Johnson is that it is a little walk to everything. It's not terrible but it is something that you will have to schedule in so that your not late to classes and meetings. It's about... 7 min. from the Student Center (SSC) 5 min. from the Chapel (DMC) 10 min. from the science building (ENS) 7 min. from the Bible building (CBTS) 10 min. from the library 3 min. to the gym (that's the best part ;D) *these vary for everybody but these are the times that it was for me. Enjoy Johnson! Trust me, you will love it! |

Hi I know this is kind of old, but I'm in a similar situation. I'm a freshman and I'm assigned to Murphy. At first I was really excited but now I'm not so sure. Is it a good dorm? Is it nice?

Wow, that's very impressive!! Murphy is the biggest girls dorm, and it's filled with a ton of nice people! It is also a hall style, and it's probably one of the nicest on campus. (I've only been in there a few times, but it is definitely very huge!) As long as you put yourself out there, you can meet all kinds of new people, no matter what dorm you're in. Also, Murphy is the closest to the SSC and a lot of the other academic buildings, so you're in a good spot!

Thank you SOO much! This made me feel so much better about eventually living in that dorm. I couldn't really find anything about it so I assumed the worst. Haha. Thanks for all your help!

One of my really good friends lived in Murphy last year and constantly walked down to Printy to hang out with my roommate and I. She loved living in Murphy, and will be staying there again next year. Congrats on getting into a great dorm your first year!
