Hey everyone! I will be attending Cedarville in the fall of this year (2010). I have been looking at Kemp Road Baptist Church. Is there anyone who attends there and could tell me what it's like? Is the music primarily hymns or praise songs or a mixture of both? What is the teaching like? How far is it from campus? Are there other good churches in the area? Thank you! I am really looking forward to the fall!

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Hi! I think that Church is in Dayton which is about a 35 min drive from Cedarville. Not been there so can't comment on it but can tell you that there are a number of Churches in Cedarville Township itself - one that's on North Main Street is Grace Baptist Church (which has a lot of local families as well as students&faculty from CU). I've seen 3 churches in Cedarville itself and there are a number of Churches that are a 10-20 min drive away. I'm currently trying out Shawnee Hills Baptist Church and it's great! Combination of praise songs & very good teaching - and lots of ministries to get involved in. It's about a 20 min drive from Cedarville. To be honest, it's probably best to try them out in person - and there will be loads of people joining you in the 'Church hunt' - not just first-year students...some people change each year. If you like the looks of Kemp Road - I'd suggest sending them an email 'cas an administrator there will be able to tell you more about the services & ministries... and you could also request a recording of the service - which they might have as an MP3 download or something!

Ps: I'm class of 2014 too! I'm non-traditional/international so got here early to start getting settled in etc. I live off campus but am on campus most days getting to know people & learn the CU-lture :-) Looking forward to meeting you too!!
