is there really a volkswagen beetle at the very bottom?
also, if i am praying and hoping to get thrown in it by the end of my senior year, can anyone tell me how cold it is and how sanitary it is? Thanks!

As far as the "sanitary" question... let's just say I would never want to go in it. I'm pretty sure the science classes all analyze water from it, and the past fall it had a lot of skum on the surface and smelled funny. Most of the engineering students would be able to tell you a lot about how cold it is, as they would have been in the cardboard canoe contest in the fall, and almost all got very wet.

unless the lake was drained and the beetle was taken out, it IS down there. The legend is true. I know the guy who sunk it He was a 1996 CU grad.

I dunno how sanitary it is, but last week before we left, it was clear enough to see the toxicity at the bottom!

And good luck getting laked. I don't personally know anyone who has been laked yet, but I also don't know anyone who's proposed yet either.

Hey Elizabeth, I noticed that you enjoy singing. My name is Mitch McClure, and I'll be transferring to Cedarville from Bowling Green State University for the Fall 2010 as a sophomore. What do you know about the Men's Glee Club director? Do you like him? I was a member of the Bowling Green Men's Chorus, and I enjoyed it very much. Anyways, have a blessed day! Hope you respond!

In Christ,
Mitch McClure

I don't know the director personally, but I have a couple of friends who were in the Glee Club last year. Feel free to friend me on facebook and I can get you in touch with them

Elizabeth, I have an alternate name on facebook, so when a request from Barsabas Justus (Acts 1:23) appears, add him, because it's me Are you in the mixed Chorus by any chance? I also noticed that you enjoy running. Have you any friends, or are you specifically, in cross country or on the track team at Cedarville? I'm interested in joining the team. Thanks and have a blessed day!

In Christ,
Mitch McClure

I am an engineering major and I have several friends who have either taken their fateful swim after a canoe failure or who have gotten "laked"...they're still alive.

Btw I know Dr. Andersen, the director of the Men's Glee Club and Concert Chorale. He is one of the nicest, happiest profs you will ever meet! He's also an amazing conductor and director! You're crazy not to love him.

Danielle, my only personal experience with Dr. Andersen was during the Music Showcase a couple of years ago, but I certainly liked him a lot then

Mitch, I have a couple of friends who run for Cedarville. I ran in high school, but wasn't competitive or committed enough to want to continue in college beyond recreation.

I'm not in the mixed chorus, but am in the OneVoice Gospel Choir; the director, Justin, is amazing, and it's the most fun I've ever had in a choir. I'm also in the choir at Grace Baptist, the church down the road.

as for the bug at the lakebottom story, i ask p.rohm, we are good friends. a bizarre friendship but he is sweet and fun and has great stories.

according to him every few years they drain the lake a bit not all the way but down to its original size (much smaller than now) and P. Rohm said he has seen part of the vehicle.

he is honest, so it is true.

Yes the beetle story is true. As for getting laked, I know two friends this year who both got laked. They both threw out the clothes they were wearing when they got laked because of the smell lol.
