So I am as yet undecided as to what I'm going to study at Cedarville this fall. One question- is it possible to both double major and be in the honors program? Has anyone done this (successfully or otherwise)?
Thanks! Kelsey =) |

I don't know about having done this successfully, but I also hope to do it starting in fall of 2011.

I'm in Math Education with a Computer Science minor and am in the honors program. I'm going to be taking 18-20 credits every semester and several courses during May term and over the summer, but will graduate on time. The honors program is definitely worth it. Dr. Mills is the best ever, and the other profs are amazing too. Today was our last class for Making of the Modern Mind (MoMM), which we have all been in since August. I've made so many wonderful friends through that class and Tau Delta Kappa (TDK; the honors society). We were all incredibly upset that it was ending, and are planning on going back to visit periodically next year.
Even if you don't finish the honors program, I would still recommend taking MoMM. There are several people who take MoMM and then don't take the two seminars or the capstone to finish out the program. I'm currently still planning on finishing, but I know that several people can't fit the extra credits into their schedule. Even if you're not enrolled officially in one of the "sophomore seminars" (which are actually taken sophomore and/or junior year), the honors professors are all great and will let you sit in on their class. There are several nursing and engineering majors in the honors program, and I know one girl who is a sophomore now who is double majoring in molecular and cellular biology and chemistry and will be able to finish in 4 years. It's definitely possible, and I would highly recommend joining the program! ------------------------- Class of 2013 and a member of the facebook group. A little about me to anyone who's interested: My name is Elizabeth, I like music (singing and piano), running, bowling, reading, writing, and a number of other hobbies. I'm majoring in Math Ed with minors in Computer Science and Bible. |
