Hey, I was just wondering about what music auditions are like. I'm a violin player, and I'm planning to audition to be in the orchestra. What types of solos do most people play? As in, are they really advanced, or are they fairly simple? And what is the difficulty level of the sight reading? And... then, what type of music does the orchestra play?

I'm coming out of a high school orchestra that played a lot of intermediate level music that wasn't always particularly challenging. So I'm just wondering if it will be a pleasant change to be challenged, or if I'm in for a complete shock with crazy hard music.

Thanks.
