Sorry that no-one replied yet, but this is a bit of a tough question to answer! Everyone has different circumstances so has different ways of paying for college.
There are certainly many things to take into consideration, but really the best thing I can suggest is to research your options. Check your local library and ask for any books on grant-hunting, money for school etc. For me, there were several options that came up that I didn't realize I was eligible for funds until I read a book about how to pay off loans (it happened to mention a grant I didn't know existed!) Once you've done your research, act fast. Particularly in the current political climate where it looks likely that there may be budget cuts in Federal spending. When you're in college, finances are done in January-April each year, and you really want to be doing them on January 1st (things like submitting a FAFSA or applying for loans/grants/scholarships for the coming August). Being ahead of the game is the best way to get the most financial support. If you're struggling to get funds together for Cedarville, chat with the Registrar's office about community colleges in your area as you might be able to do some classes while based at home, and then when you've saved up or managed to get whatever grants/scholarships/federal aid/loans you need, then you can transfer to Cedarville. (Check with the Registrar first because not all classes are transferable - Cedarville places quite high expectations so you may need to take a higher-level class at a community college). If you're needing more specific details than that - contact the Financial Aid Department at Cedarville. They have lots of literature they can send you about finding scholarships/grants and how to get the most financial support etc you can. Hope that helps! |
