I was just wondering which dorm you guys recommended, I'm thinking the unit style, but I was just wondering what your opinions are.

For a freshman the unit style is fantastic; you get to know everyone in your unit really well. I live in a hall now, and hardly know most of the others. The hall is a lot quieter by comparison, and since I already have established groups of friends on campus I don't mind not really knowing the people I live with. I'm really glad to have had the unit style freshman year though and I'm still good friends with several of my former unit-mates.
Are there any particular dorms you were looking at? ------------------------- Class of 2013 and a member of the facebook group. A little about me to anyone who's interested: My name is Elizabeth, I like music (singing and piano), running, bowling, reading, writing, and a number of other hobbies. I'm majoring in Math Ed with minors in Computer Science and Bible. |

I would say that the hall style dorms are best.
With hall styles, you are given a lot more privacy, a lot more space, and (generally) a little more silence. It is probably true that you don't really get to know the people in your hall quite as well as you would if you lived in a unit. However, it is almost impossible to not know the people in your hall since you run into them so often. |
