CU: Change or Reset Your Password

CedarNet users (faculty, staff, parents, students, and alumni) use the same universal password to access CedarNet, CedarInfo, Google Apps, Moodle, and Atomic Learning.

CedarNet passwords expire every 360 days for most current faculty, staff, and department accounts. Some Cedarville divisions (and their student workers) have stricter expiration time-frames (e.g., 180 days). Student, alumni, and parent passwords do not automatically expire.

If you do not remember your CedarNet username and password, please call Information Technology at 937-766-7905.

Change Your Password

  1. Using an Internet browser, navigate to the CedarInfo (protected services) section of the Cedarville University website. 
  2. Log in with your CedarNet username and password > Click [Authenticate].
  3. Locate the Individual (General) Transactions section.
  4. Click the Change Your CedarNet password link.
  5. Enter your new password 2 times.
  6. Click [Process Change]. You should receive a message that your password has been successfully changed.
  7. Click the End Session link at the bottom of the screen.

Reset Your Password

If you forget your CedarNet password, you can reset it through one of the following methods.

Answer Your CedarInfo “Security Questions”

This option is available to you only if you have already set up a security questions through the CedarInfo Change your Security Questions link.

  1. Using an Internet browser, navigate to the CedarInfo (protected services) section of the Cedarville University website. 
  2. Click the "answering your hint challenge" link > Type in your username > Click [Show Question].
  3. Type in the answer to your "hint" question > Click [Check Answer].
  4. A new password will display.
  5. If you answer incorrectly or have never set up a hint challenge, an error message will display. Proceed to the second option.

Call Information Technology

  1. If you are off-campus, call Information Technology at 937-766-7905. If you are calling from an on-campus phone, dial extension 7905.
  2. Information technology will give you a temporary password.
  3. Log in to CedarInfo with your temporary password and follow the steps above to Change Your Password.
