CedarPrint: Wireless Set Up

Before you start…

With the university’s new CedarPrint wireless printing, students, faculty, and staff now have the ability to print from a personal computer to a network printer. This tech help page will explain how to set up your personal computer for wireless printing.

Warning!

To use CedarPrint from a wireless device, you must be connected to cu-secure. For help connecting to the cu-secure wireless, see these setup instructions.

Automatic Installation (Windows & Mac)

If at any point during the following process you are asked to allow the program to make changes to your computer, click [Yes].

Windows

  1. Open your wireless connections > Connect to cu-secure.
  2. Open your preferred browser > Navigate to cedarville.edu/techresources.
  3. Log in with your CedarNet username and password.
  4. Click “Windows: CedarPrint Client and Printer Install” to download the file.
  5. Navigate to the folder you just downloaded > Click to open and run the file.

    Note:

The file may take several minutes to download. If you are running Windows 8, once you open the file, a security risk dialog box opens. Simply click "More info," then [Run anyway].

  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the client. Again, the process may take several minutes as the installation includes both the PaperCut client and the printer.

  2. Open your preferred browser > Navigate to cedarville.edu/techresources.
  3. Log in with your CedarNet username and password.

  5. Double-click on the "Install_CedarPrint-Mac.zip" folder to unzip the file. The decompressed file will have the same name as the original file.
  6. Locate the unzipped file called "Install CedarPrint" (The file will probably be in your "Downloads" folder.) > Double-click the icon.
  7. In the pop-up window, click [Open].
  8. Click the "Install CedarPrint" icon that appears in the dock.
