CedarPrint: Wireless Set Up

Before you start…

CedarPrint wireless printing gives students, faculty, and staff the option to print from a personal computer (e.g., a laptop) to University laser printers. This tech help page will explain how to set up your personal computer for wireless printing.

Note:

To use CedarPrint from a wireless device, you must be connected to the cu-secure wireless network. For help connecting to cu-secure wireless, see these setup instructions.

Automatic Installation (Windows & Mac)

If at any point during the following process you are asked to allow the program to make changes to your computer or device, click [Yes].

Windows

  1. Open your wireless network connections > Connect to cu-secure.
  2. Navigate to cedarville.edu/techstop using your preferred web browser.
  3. Click the "CedarPrint" link from the navigation links on the left-hand side of the screen.
  4. Click [Download the Windows installer]. Log in with your CedarNet credentials if prompted.
  5. Navigate to the file you just downloaded > Click to open and run the installation.

    Note:

    The file may take several minutes to download. If you are running Windows 8, once you open the file, a security risk dialog box opens. Simply click "More info," then [Run anyway].

  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software (PCClient Print quota), CedarPrint printer object, and drivers.
  7. When prompted, log in with your CedarNet username and password > Click [OK].

Mac

  1. Open your wireless network connections > Connect to cu-secure.
  2. Navigate to cedar.to/techstop using the Safari web browser.
  3. Click the "CedarPrint" link from the navigation links on the left.
  4. Click [Download the Mac OS installer]. Log in with your CedarNet credentials if prompted.
  5. Click the "Show downloads" button located to the right of the web navigation bar.
  6. Double-click "Install CedarPrint" from the Downloads list.
  7. In the "File open" confirmation window, click [Open].
  8. Click the active "Install CedarPrint" icon in the dock/toolbar.
  9. When asked if you want to install the printer (CedarPrint wireless printer), click [Yes] to each prompt.
  10. When prompted, log in with your CedarNet username and password.
  11. Click the active "Install CedarPrint" icon in the dock/toolbar again. You should receive a pop-up notifcation of successfull installation > Click [OK].
  12. Click [OK].

CedarPrint Locations

There are currently thirteen CedarPrint stations around campus:

  • Apple commuter lounge
  • BTS 111 computer lab (this is a color CedarPrint station)
  • BTS atrium (by the echeck stations)
  • Callan hallway (by the echeck stations)
  • DMC south lobby (across from the Journalism lab)
  • DMC east (near Global Outreach)
  • ENS second floor lobby
  • HSC second floor lobby
  • HSC third floor lobby
  • Library alcove (by the echeck stations)
  • SSC upper level lobby (across from Admissions)
  • SSC lower level hallway (by the game room)
  • Tyler first floor (by the echeck stations)
