Computer Service Request (CSR)

Submit a Computer Service Request

If you are experiencing difficulties with your University network account, hardware, network connection, or any other computer-related issue, the fastest way to receive service is to submit an online computer service request.

  1. Use a web browser to access the online computer service request form. (Also available by clicking on the "Services" tab from the FacStaff or Student homepages.)
  2. Log in with your username and password.
  3. Click on the appropriate radio button to indicate if the issue is with a University-owned computer, Self-Provided Computer (SPC), or your CedarNet account.
  4. Click [Continue].
  5. Verify that the Building Name, Room Number, and Department Name fields are displaying correctly or enter the correct information.
  6. Click the arrow next to "Computer Type" and choose the appropriate response.
  7. Click in the area labeled "Description of the Problem:" and explain - in as much detail as possible - what is happening. Please include:
    • The text of any error messages you have received
    • When the problem began and how often it occurs
    • Any programs you recently installed or other recent changes made to your system
  8. Click [Submit Problem]
  9. A confirmation of your problem submission will be emailed to you, along with a link which you can use to track the progress of your service request.
