Creating and Sorting Groupwise Folders and Subfolders

Here are some tips on creating folders in your GroupWise Cabinet to store e-mails there by category:

Create a new GroupWise Folder

  1. Right-click on the cabinet and choose "New Folder."
  2. Select the kind of folder you want to create.  (You will probably want a "Personal folder."  To learn about Shared folders, click here.)
  3. Click [Next] > Name the folder.
  4. Position the folder in your folder list by using the [Up] or [Down] buttons > Click [Next] > Click [Finish].
  5. You can drag and drop e-mail into the folder or set it up to find results automatically.

Perhaps your priorities have changed since you first created one or more of those folders.  Or maybe, you now have many, many folders and some Spring cleaning is in order!  Here are a couple of suggestions.  (These options will also work if you want to rearrange the order of the icons in your Main folder list as well - like mailbox, sent items, trash, etc.)

Option 1: Alphabetical

  1. Right-click on a folder.
  2. Choose "Sort Subfolders." This will place all of your folders in ascending alphabetical order.

Option 2: Manual organization

If you prefer to put them in an order other than alphabetical, follow this process:

  1. Right-click on a folder and continue to hold down the right mouse.
  2. Drag the folder to a new position in the list.
  3. Release the right mouse button.
  4. The folder will land inside the folder that is highlighted when you release the mouse button.
