Google Mail does not automatically have an option to let you add images to display in an email. However, you can enable the “Inserting images” Gmail Lab. This will add the an “Insert Image” option on the Compose email screen.

1. Navigate to Cedarville.edu/Google and click the “Mail” link.
2. Log in to Google Mail. If you are already logged in to Google Apps, open Google Mail by clicking the [Mail] tab at the top of the screen.
3. From the top right of the screen, click the gear-shaped [Settings] icon. A drop-down menu appears.
4. Click “Settings.”
5. From the menu across the top of the screen, click the [Labs] tab.
6. In the “Search for a lab:” field, type “Inserting images.”
7. The “Inserting images” lab should appear under “Available Labs.”
8. Next to the “Inserting images” lab, select “Enable.”
9. Click “Save Changes.” You will return to your Mail screen with the lab enabled.

1. Navigate to Cedarville.edu/Google and click the “Mail” link.
2. Log in to Google Mail. If you are already logged in to Google Apps, open Google Mail by clicking the [Mail] tab at the top of the screen.
3. To write a new email, click [Compose].
4. After you have completed writing your email, place your cursor in the email message box where you would like the image to appear.
5. From the toolbar, click the “Insert Image” option. The icon looks like a box with two mountains.
6. Select whether to add an image from your computer or to link to a web address.
7. If you selected from your computer, select [Choose File], navigate to the desired image, and click [Open]. If you selected to link to a web address, type the web address of the image into the “Image URL” field.
8. Wait till the image uploads and click [OK]. The image will be added to the email.
