Google Mail: Keyboard Shortcuts

Learning a few of Google's many keyboard shortcuts can help save you time.

To turn shortcuts on or off:

1. In Google Mail, click the gear-shaped Settings icon and then choose "Settings" from the resulting list.
2. In the "Keyboard shortcuts" section, click the radio button to either turn the shortcuts on or off.
3. Click [Save Changes] (located at the bottom of the screen).

To open a list of keyboard shortcuts:

While in Google Mail, use +? to open a list of keyboard shortcuts. You can also enable or disable the shortcuts from this screen. Click "Open in a new window" to view Google's help page on shortcuts and read slightly more detailed descriptions of the shortcuts' actions.
