Google Mail: Use Multiple Signatures

Google Mail: Use Multiple Signatures

Google Mail allows you to create a signature to automatically appear at the end of each email you send. To do this, see the Google Mail: Add a Signature help page. With this method, you can only have one signature.

However, you may use multiple signatures by enabling and using the “Canned Responses” Gmail Lab. This lab allows you to save multiple common responses to emails. Simply enable the lab, type and format your signature in a new email, and save it as a canned response to use whenever you want.

Enable the "Canned Responses" lab

  1. Navigate to cedarville.edu/google and click the “Mail” link > Log in to Google Mail.
  2. In the upper-right corner of the screen, click the gear-shaped "Settings" icon > Select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
  3. From the menu across the top of the screen, click the "Labs" tab.
  4. Navigate to the "Canned Responses" field > Check "Enable."
  5. Click [Save Changes] at the bottom of the screen.

  3. When finished, click the [More options] icon in the bottom-right corner of the email > Select “Canned responses" > Select "New canned resonse..."
  4. In the resulting dialog box, enter a name for the canned response/signature, and then click [Ok].

Note:
