H: Drive Storage Guidelines: Check Your Available H: Drive Space
To check the amount of free space left on your H: drive, follow these instructions:
- Go to [Start] > "My Computer" > Right-click "[Your ID number] on '[Your Server]\Data\Homedirs' (H:)".
- Select "Properties."
- A box will appear which indicates the size (in gigabytes) of your H: drive, how many gigabytes are used, how many gigabytes of free space are available, and the percentage of total storage space used.
The most important figure to note is “Free Space.” A good rule of thumb is to have at least 0.03 GB (30 MB) free at all times.
Please be aware that the "My Documents" folder, as well as your "Desktop," resides on your H: drive (h:\docs). Your "My Music" folder within your H: drive also contributes to your H: drive quota, so familiarize yourself with how much space your music files may be taking up.
