Lists: Add Bullets or Numbering
- Click and drag to highlight the list items.
- In the “Home” tab under “Paragraph,” click either the [bullets] or [numbering] drop-down arrows.
Bullets
- In the [bullet] drop-down box, you can either choose from the “Bullet Library” or select “Define New Bullet.”
- In the "Define New Bullet" dialogue box, click either [Symbol] or [Picture] and select the desired bullet style from the list. Select [Font] if you would like to change the font of the symbol you’ve chosen.
- Click the “Alignment” drop-down list to change the alignment of the bullets on the page.
- Click [OK].
The list will display with the specialty bullets.
Numbers
- In the [number] drop-down box, you will see a lot of options for outlining your list (A. B. C., I. II. III., etc.). Choose one of these or select “Define New Number Format.”

In the "Define New Number Format" dialogue box, select the option you’d like > Click [Font] to change the formatting slightly.
Note:
The “Number Format” field shows the changes to the number and how it will appear in your document.
- Click the “Alignment” drop-down list to change the alignment of the numbers on the page.
- Click [OK].
The list will display with the specialty numbers.
