Office: Live Preview
Microsoft Office uses the "Live Preview" feature which allows you to preview changes to your document before you commit to finalize those changes. Live Preview comes into effect when, for example, you highlight text and open the font drop-down menu. Live Preview will show the text in each new font as you scroll through the options without actually changing the font.
Live Preview is turned on in all Microsoft Office applications by default. Each application (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) is independent, so you can turn Live Preview "on" in one application and "off" in another according to your preferences.
Disable Live Preview
If you want to disable Live Preview from any of your Microsoft office applications, follow these steps:
- Click [Start] (or in Office 2007, the Microsoft Office button) > Choose the [Options] button for the application you are using (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word, etc.)
- Under the "General" tab (in Office 2007, the "Popular" tab), click to deselect the "Enable Live Preview" checkbox
- Click [OK] .
