Outlook: Mark Emails as Junk

Spam email is automatically sent to the Junk Email folder in Outlook. You can mark other spam emails that aren’t automatically flagged as junk, and you can also remove emails that are not spam from your Junk Email folder.

Mark as junk

  1. Select the email you want to mark as junk.
  2. In the "Delete" group in the "Home" tab, click "Junk" > "Block Sender." The email will be sent to the junk email folder and the sender of that email will be put on the Blocked Senders list so that all emails from them in the future will automatically be sent to the junk email folder.

Mark as not junk and remove from junk email folder

  1. Go to the "Junk Email" folder.
  2. Select the email or emails you want to remove from the junk email folder.
  3. In the "Delete" group in the "Home" tab, click "Junk" > "Not Junk."
  4. In the "Mark as Not Junk" pop-up window, select any email addresses you want to trust.
  5. Click [OK]. The email will be removed from the junk email folder.

Delete junk emails

  1. Go to the "Junk Email" folder.
  2. Select the email or emails you want to delete.
  3. Click "Delete" in the ribbon.
