Remote Access to CedarNet: VPN and Remote Desktop (Faculty and Staff Only)

There are hundreds of software titles available on CedarNet (e.g., Photoshop, AutoCad, Logos Bible Software, etc.) Unfortunately, due to licensing restrictions, this software cannot be installed on home computers. However, two programs exist that will allows you to access these options.

VPN (Virtual Private Network)

VPN allows you to work from home, using the Internet to connect remote sites or users with one another. A VPN will route workers through the CedarNet wireless connection and provide access to sites and programs that are otherwise inaccessible off-campus. For more information on VPN, view this article.

Remote Desktop

Setting up a remote desktop allows you to see and utilize your university desktop on your laptop or home computer exactly as you would see and use it at your work computer.

For either of these options, have your supervisor or manager submit a Computer Service Request.
