SPC: How to find a MAC Address on your Device

Before you start…

During the manual SPC registration process, you will be asked to provide the MAC address of your device. You must provide this address to complete the process and register your device for use on CedarNet. Find your device on this help page for specific instructions on how to find your MAC address.

Amazon Kindle

  1. Press the "Menu" button.
  2. Use the 5-way controller to underline "Settings" > Press "Select."
  3. Under "Device Info," you will see an entry for Wi-Fi MAC Address.

Android-based Device

  1. Press “Menu” on the home screen > Select “Settings.”
  2. Select “Wireless & Networks.”
  3. Check the box marked “Wi-Fi” to ensure that wireless is turned on.
  4. Press “Back” > Select “About Phone” or "About Tablet" at the bottom of the list.
  5. Select “Hardware Information.”
  6. You will see the MAC address displayed in the field labeled “Wi-Fi MAC Address.”

Blackberry

  1. Select “Options” from the home screen.
  2. Select “Status.”
  3. You will see the MAC address displayed in the field labeled “WLAN MAC.”

Chromebook

  1. Click on the Network and Settings window on your tray (where it shows the time, battery, avatar, etc.).
  2. Click on the WiFi section to see network details.
  3. Click on the “i” button in the bottom-right corner, and your MAC address will be displayed.

iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch

  1. Select “Settings” from the home screen.
  2. Select the “General” option.
  3. Select the “About” option.
  4. You will see the MAC address displayed in the field labeled “Wi-Fi Address.”

Nook (Barnes and Noble)

NOOK

  1. Press the Home button.
  2. On the Home menu, tap "Settings."
  3. Find the entry for "MAC Address."

NOOKcolor

  1. Tap the Nav Arrow at the bottom of the screen to display the Quick Nav Bar > Tap "Settings."
  2. Tap "Device Info" > "About Your NOOKcolor."
  3. Find the entry for "MAC Address."

Palm webOS Device (i.e., Palm Pre)

  1. Select “Device Info” from the Launcher.
  2. Select “More Info” > Select the “Hardware” tab.
  3. This screen displays the MAC address.

PlayStation Portable (PSP)

  1. Select “Settings” from the home screen.
  2. Select “System Settings” > Select “System Information.”
  3. This screen displays the MAC address.

Xbox 360

Wired:

  1. Select “System” from the Xbox Dashboard.
  2. Select “Network Settings.”
  3. Select “Edit Settings.”
  4. Select “Additional Settings.”
  5. Select “Advanced Settings.”
  6. Look for the heading titled “Wired MAC Address.”
  7. This screen displays the MAC address.

Wireless:

  1. Select “System” from the Xbox Dashboard.
  2. Select “Network Settings.”
  3. Select “Edit Settings.”
  4. Select “Additional Settings.”
  5. Select “Advanced Settings.”
  6. Select “Wireless Information.”
  7. This screen will display the MAC address.

New NXE Display:

  1. Go to “My Xbox” on the Xbox Dashboard.
  2. Select “System Settings” all the way to the right.
  3. Select “Network Settings.”
  4. Select “Configure Network.”
  5. Under the “Basic Settings” tab, make sure IP Settings is on Automatic.
  6. Go to the “Additional Settings” tab.
  7. Select “Advanced Settings.”
  8. The MAC address is displayed on this screen below the heading “Wired MAC Address.”

Xbox (Wired)

  1. Turn on your Xbox console with no game disc in the disc tray.
  2. Choose “Xbox Live” from the Xbox Dashboard.
  3. Select “Settings” from the “Connect Status” screen.
  4. You will see the MAC address displayed in the bottom right corner of the “Network Settings” screen.

Windows Mobile Device

  1. Make sure your Wi-Fi is enabled.
  2. Select “Start” > “Settings.”
  3. Select “Connections” > “Wireless LAN.”
  4. Select the “Advanced” tab.
  5. You will see the MAC address displayed in the “MAC” field.

Wireless Printer

With the printer manual

This is the easiest way to find your MAC address. Look in the printer manual. The address will probably be located at the end of the manual on a label specific to your printer.

With a configuration page

  1. If there is a configuration or tools button on the front panel of the printer, press that button.
  2. Using the arrow keys, scroll to the option for printing a test page.
  3. If there is no button on the front panel, or if you cannot find the test page option, connect the printer to a computer using a wired connection.
  4. Navigate to the printer.
  5. Right-click the printer icon > Select "Print a Test Page."
  6. Once you have a test page printed, look for MAC address on the page. It may be labeled "Physical Address."
