Storing iTunes Music Files While On Campus

C Drive

Some students choose to store their iTunes music files on the C: drive of their University-owned (dorm) computer. If you choose to store your music in this location, please remember that you are responsible for backing up your music collection to CDs or another portable device.

*Warning*

Computer maintenance performed during the Academic year may require reformatting the C: drive of your University-owned (dorm) computer. If such maintenance is required, your music cannot be backed up nor restored by Computer Services.

In addition, All University-owned computers are reformatted each summer, so you must backup your music files before leaving campus in May.

H Drive

Some students choose to store their music (and/or video files) on their H: drive.  Depending on the number of music/video files you have, this can fill up your H drive and make saving academic files difficult.  Additional instructions are provided on how to move your iTunes library to the C drive.
