🌐 Find MAC Address on your Device

During the manual registration process, you will be asked to provide the MAC address of your device. You must provide this address to complete the process and register your device for use on cu-manual. Find your device on this help page for specific instructions on how to find your MAC address.

Amazon Echo

On first Setup:

  1. Download the Amazon Alexa app.
  2. Sign in to your Amazon account.
  3. Make sure your phone is connected to the wireless network shared with your Echo Dot.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the Echo Setup screen, where you should find the MAC address.

After first Setup:

  1. Open the Alexa app on your phone
  2. Go to "More" > "Settings" > "Device Settings"> "Your Echo Echo Device"
  3. Press the gear icon in the upper-right corner
  4. Scroll down and press "About"
  5. Your MAC address will be displayed

 

Amazon Fire TV

  1. From the Home screen, press "Settings"
  2. Navigate to "My Fire TV" > "About" > "Network"
  3. The MAC Address will be displayed under MAC Address (Wi-Fi)

 

Amazon Kindle

  1. Press the "Menu" button.
  2. Use the 5-way controller to underline "Settings" > Press "Select."
  3. The MAC Address will be displayed under "Device Info/Options"

 

Android Device

  1. Navigate to "Settings"
  2. Tap "About Device"
  3. Tap "Status" or "Hardware Information"
  4. The MAC Address will be displayed under "Wi-Fi MAC Address"

 

Apple TV

  1. From the main menu, press "Settings"
  2. Press "About"
  3. The MAC Address will be displayed under "Wireless ID"

 

Camera (General Guidelines)

  1. Many camera's display the MAC Address on the bottom of the camera
    1. If it is not there, see the instructions for "Other"

 

Nintendo Wii

  1. Select "Wii Settings" to access the "Wii System Settings" menu.
  2. Using the arrow on the right side of the screen, scroll to page two and select "Internet."
  3. Select "Console Information." 
  4. The Wii Console's MAC address will be shown at the top of the screen.

 

Nintendo 3DS

  1. Select "System Settings" > "Internet Settings" > "Other Information."
  2. Select "Confirm MAC Address" to display the MAC Address.

 

Nintendo Switch

  1. Select "System Settings" from the HOME Menu.
  2. Scroll down and select "Internet."
  3. The MAC Address will be displayed under "System MAC Address."

 

Printer (General Guidlines)

  1. Look on the bottom or side of the printer for a MAC Address
  2. If it is not there, print a configuration page. The MAC Address will likely be displayed in the "Network" Section and could be called "Hardware Address"
    1. To print a configuration page, consult your printer manual. Typically, if there is a display on your printer, look in the settings under "Administration" or similar. If there is no display, you will likely press the "Go" button three times or something similar.

 

Roku

  1. Go to the Roku Home screen.
  2. Click on "Settings" > "System" > "About."
  3. The MAC Address will be displayed next to "Wireless MAC address"

 

Smart Home Device (General Guidelines)

  1. Open the device app on your phone.
  2. Navigate to the device settings.
  3. Look for something similar to either "About" or "Network."
  4. Your MAC address will likely be displayed in this section.

 

Smart Watch (General Guidelines)

  1. On the watch
    1. Navigate to "Settings."
    2. Tap on "About."
    3. The MAC Address should be displayed in this section.
  2. On the app
    1. Open the app and navigate to "Settings" or "General."
    2. Select your device and the "About."
    3. The MAC Address should be displayed in this section.

 

PlayStation 4

  1. Start up your PlayStation 4 without a disk in the drive.
  2. Find the System Settings icon.
  3. Select "System Information."
  4. The MAC Address will be displayed in this section.

 

PlayStation 5

  1. Start up your PlayStation 5.
  2. Select "System" > "System Software" > "Console Information"
  3. The MAC Address will be listed by MAC Address (Wi-Fi).

 

VR Device

These instructions are for the Oculus Quest 2, but other headsets should be similar.

  1. Open the companion app on your phone.
  2. Open the Settings.
  3. Select the drop-down menu for Quest.
  4. Select "Settings" > "About This Headset."
  5. Your MAC Address will be displayed in this section.

 

Windows Phone/Tablet

  1. Navigate to Settings.
  2. Tap "About Phone" or "About Tablet."
  3. Tap "Hardware Info" or "WiFi Settings."
  4. Your MAC Address will be displayed under "WiFi MAC Address."

 

Xbox One

  1. Go to "My Xbox" in the Xbox dashboard and select Settings.
  2. In the Settings pane, select Network.
  3. Select Advanced Settings from the Network Settings tab.
  4. Your MAC Address will be displayed under "Wireless MAC."

 

Xbox Series X/S

  1. On the Xbox controller, press the Xbox button.
  2. From the Profile & System menu, select Settings.
  3. From the General section, select Network Settings.
  4. Select Advanced Settings.
  5. On the IP Settings menu, the wireless MAC address will be listed by Wireless MAC.

 

Other

There are many different devices with MAC Addresses and have different ways of finding it, but most follow a similar basic route to find it. If you have a device not listed above, try following these general steps and look for similar wording on your own device. If these instructions are not helpful for your device, there are also many resources online you can search for that may give more specific instructions for your device.

  1. Navigate to your device's settings
  2. Search for one of the following: "Network Settings," "Hardware Information," or "About Device"
  3. The MAC Address should display under "MAC Address," "Wired/Wireless Address," etc.
