Windows XP: Create Desktop Shortcuts
Shortcuts are icons you use to directly access files, folders, or programs more quickly.
Since your desktop is saved to your H: drive, the same set of shortcuts will appear when you log in to any University computer.
Adding or deleting shortcuts on one computer will affect your desktop on every University computer.

- Right-click on the file, folder, or program.
- Choose "Send To" > Select "Desktop (create shortcut)."
- The shortcut will appear on your desktop. (Shortcuts are indicated by a little black arrow in a white box at the lower left hand corner of the icon).
Rename a Shortcut
