Word: Adjust Table Columns (Auto-Fit)

You can manually adjust the width of any table; however, the following tips may allow you to fine-tune your tables with less effort.

Adjust Row and Column Sizes

First, place the cursor on the table and select "Layout" under "Table Tools" on the menu.  You will use the icons under the "Cell Size" group.

• To fit the table to the page or the text, use the options under "AutoFit" in the "Cell Size" group.
• To make each column the same width, click the icon on the middle right of the "Cell Size" group called "Distribute Columns."
