WordPerfect: Reveal Formatting Codes
When you edit a document, you change its content. When you format a document, you change its appearance. Before learning how to format, you should have a basic understanding of WordPerfect's formatting codes. The codes tell WordPerfect when to turn formats on and off, insert a tab, end a paragraph, end a page, etc.
You can reveal the codes in a separate window at the bottom of the screen by dragging the "Reveal Codes" line (this is the small rectangle at the bottom of the vertical scroll bar). When you release the mouse button, you will see a window that shows your text, as well as symbols that represent the codes.
[Note: Alternatively, you can reveal codes by pressing [Alt]+[F3], or by selecting "View" -> Choose "Reveal Codes".]
