The Jackets Racing Team is a Cedarville University engineering team that designs and builds a formula race car to compete in the Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE) competition. The core of the team is a group of mechanical engineering senior design students who are gaining practical experience by taking a project from concept to reality. Though this is primarily an engineering project, students from all majors are welcome to join the team to bring their own expertise to the project. Typically, over 20 Cedarville students are involved in the Jackets Racing Team.

The Jackets Racing Team strives to develop innovative engineering and business skills as well as good teamwork in order to produce a winning race car. Each student gains valuable experience in leadership, managerial, and organizational skills. The result is a competition-ready car that reflects hard work and innovative design.

Many generous companies have sponsored Cedarville design teams in the past and have been the "driving force" behind the teams' successes. Sponsors enjoy significant exposure among the student body, within the community, and throughout the professional engineering community.
