
An act is academically dishonest when it is attempted or performed in order to misrepresent one’s involvement in an academic task in any way, or when it assists or permits another student to misrepresent his involvement in an academic task.
Penalties for academic dishonesty range from a reduction in credit for the assignment to assigning a grade of “F” for the semester. Guilty students will be reported to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences who will send the names to the Academic Vice President.
Examples of unacceptable behavior include (but are not limited to) giving or receiving information on an exam or quiz (verbally, visually, electronically, etc.), plagiarism, lying, falsifying data, and copying lab reports.
