Areolar Tissue
NOTES:
Notice the prominent fibers and several different kinds of cells (fibroblasts, macrophages, plasma cells, adipocytes, mast cells) embedded in a pinkish-colored ground substance.
Areolar tissue combines with adipose tissue (shown next) to form the subcutaneous layer under the epidermis and dermis of the skin.
