Adrenal Cortex
NOTES:
This low-power microscopic view of the adrenal cortex shows the outer capsule in the right upper corner. The zona glomerulosa is immediately below the capsule, and is made up of circular groups of cells. Yet deeper is the zona fasciculata, a thick layer with cells in long cords. Finally, the zona reticularis contains branching cords of cells (lower left). The adrenal medulla is not shown in this view.
