In this low-power view of pancreatic tissue, pancreatic islets (islets of
Langerhans) show up as pale pink, with more compact cells (black arrows).
This is the endocrine portion of the gland, which secretes insulin and
glucagon.
Clusters of acini make up the majority of tissue in this slide, and
represent parts of the gland which secrete digestive enzymes (the exocrine
portion of the pancreas).
